Resistance group

The classification of a product by its mode of action — the basis for how often it may be used in a season.

Two products with different trade names can share the same mode of action. Alternate between them and you have changed nothing: the pathogen sees the same point of attack.

So products are sorted into groups (the FRAC code for fungicides), and the authorisation limits how often a group may be used per season.

The counting is the real work: it runs across the whole season and across every parcel — and nobody keeps that in their head.
