Cash count reconciliation The property that the calculated till balance can be reconciled with the cash actually counted at any time. Cash register inspection (Kassennachschau) An unannounced inspection of till records by the German tax office.

DSFinV-K The standardised export format in which till data is handed over at an inspection.

Electronic invoice An invoice as a structured data set under the EN 16931 standard — not a PDF. EN 16931 The European standard setting out what an electronic invoice has to contain.

GoBD The German administrative rules on how tax-relevant data is to be kept and retained in digital form.

Receipt obligation The duty to issue a receipt for every sale — whether or not the customer wants one.

XRechnung The plain XML format for electronic invoices to public-sector customers in Germany.

Z report The daily close of the till — the total of all transactions in a day, sequentially numbered. ZUGFeRD / Factur-X A hybrid electronic invoice format: a PDF with the structured data embedded in it.
