Fertiliser regulation (DüV) The rule requiring a requirement assessment before every fertiliser application and a record afterwards.

Harvest declaration The declaration of the quantities harvested, by area, variety and quality level.

LUCID The German packaging register in which anyone supplying packaged goods must register before first placing them on the market.

Official test number (AP number) The proof that a quality wine has passed the official examination.

Packaging regulation (PPWR) The EU regulation that requires anyone supplying filled packaging to private end consumers to register, join a scheme and declare quantities. Production declaration The declaration of what was actually produced in the cellar out of the harvest.

Quality level The classification in wine law from Landwein through Qualitätswein up to the Prädikat levels.

Statement of origin The geographical indication on the label — ordered by the new origin pyramid from growing region through Region and village wine down to Einzellage. Stock declaration The annual declaration to the competent authority of the wine held on 31 July. System participation The contract with a dual system that funds the collection and recovery of packaging.

Wine fund levy The levy that funds the promotion of German wine, charged on area and quantity.
